Candidate helps students compose and respond to film, video, graphic, photographic, audio, and multimedia texts and use current technology to enhance their own learning and reflection on their learning.
In my class, students created their own blogs. The blogs were originally intended for students to write about their silent reading books. Students were challenged to read 30 books throughout the school year; students were therefore blogging about these books. Students were also encouraged to blog about their interests. It's important for students today to realize they can express their ideas and thoughts in many different ways and through many different outlets. We used Kidblog because it's a safe environment for students, and parents didn't need to worry about outside viewers. I would love to implement a more real-life scenario through a more open blog, but this will depend entirely on the situation I find myself in in my future classroom.
