Advertising is hugely influential on the American population, particularly American youth. In my class, students study persuasive techniques and how those techniques are marketed to influence buying tendencies. Click the document below to see a PowerPoint on persuasive techniques.



Students then analyze various ads (this unit fell right after the Super Bowl this year, so there were plenty of recent ads to analyze.)

It's important for students to think about the changes that are purposefully made when adapting a text into film.
