Students in my 8th grade classes are working on two different projects. One is a found poetry project in which students are writing their own poetry using lines written by others. After their poems are written, students will create a multi-media presentation where they will be required to think about theme, tone, mood, etc. Click on the link below to see the rubric.
Students are also working on a spoken word poetry project. They will write their own poems and then perform their poem using gestures and proper stage presence. This is a combination of poetry and theater. To see the rubric for the project, click on the link below.
