Choice is the best way to address the wide range of skills and abilities that inevitably shows up in every classroom. Students respond very well when given different choices because it gives them ownership over their learning.

I try to offer multiple options every chance I can. Project menus are very common for big projects. Multiple intelligence is something I've studied in-depth, and I truly believe every student can be successful if given the proper outlet. I strongly encourage students to learn their strengths and weaknesses in my class. They are praised for success in their strong suit and encouraged for attempting to overcome their struggles.

Also, I spend a lot of time getting to know my students and their learning habits. It's not easy with about 80 students, but it's worth it to be able to have a good idea of how each student learns best.
